Notes

We love to know we’re making a difference and we are honored that so many people have taken the time to thank us in their own words. Here is an assortment of letters we’ve received from some of the many people the Foundation is helping.

Isabella is 3 years old diagnosed with B-Cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She loves soups and wonders about the weather. She wishes she could go home (to Louisiana) and believes in God. She is afraid of needles and dreams of having unicorns! Her family wrote to B+:”I would like to thank the B+ Foundation for their tremendous help. Had it not been for your amazing foundation, I’m not sure what my family and I would have done. Your help has once again showed how we are not alone in this world of cancer. BE POSITIVE has helped me take some weight and worry off my shoulders. Since my youngest daughter Isabella (3) was diagnosed with B-Cell ALL my whole world shattered. Unfortunately, the world around us did not. So, for bill collectors that meant payments still needed to be billed and received. BE POSITIVE has made an impact on my family. I’m thankful that foundations such as this one exists and step in to help families such as mine. This foundation is a blessing, so I pray it’s always blessed. From my family to yours and the great foundation of BE POSITIVE, Thank you!”

Thank you so much for your recent donation. A thank you note came through today from Damian’s family – one of the families your donation allowed us to help. I hope you enjoy the rest of summer and thank you again for your support in the fight against childhood cancer!

Damian is 5 years old diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma. He loves numbers and is afraid of needles. He wonders about his friends and family and believes he will be cured. He wishes to go to school and dreams of meeting super mario. His family wrote to thank B+: “My family would like to thank everyone involved in helping families who are going through difficult times. Our son, Damian was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma last year. Our life has been a roller coaster ever since he was diagnosed. We have been through many ups and downs during the course of his treatment; surgeries, chemotherapy, physical therapy, and numerous medications. Despite all this, our son has remained strong and showed us how resilient a child can be. He is an amazing kid and we thank God everyday for it.”

Dear Legacy Foundation,

Happy Holidays! Our family cannot thank you enough for being part of Fred’s footsteps. Our son was born last December and due to a birth injury he suffered several brain damaging seizures. Benjamin spent 9 days in the NICU and was diagnosed with HIE. He has difficulty managing the left side of his body and participates in physical and occupational therapy four times a week. Since his birth our family has had hard time financially. Fred’s footsteps has truly helped our family in so many ways. They allowed us to stay in our home by paying several months of mortgage. We are way beyond grateful if not for Fred’s footsteps and donors like you, things would have been much worse for our family. Thank you for your generosity! We hope you have wonderful holiday season!

Dear Legacy Foundation,

Thank you so much for your generous contribution to the Salvation Army New Day Center. This is such an amazing program. The women I have met in the program are hungry to get their lives in order, your contribution will go a long way. We appreciate you so much.

Please express our thanks to the Legacy Foundation committee for approving the grant to purchase food for the residents of The Salvation Army proposed New Day Home. We also appreciate your encouragement and support of our work and we are grateful for the faith and confidence you place in us to provide a place of safety for victims of sex trafficking. Thank you again for your compassionate generosity.

On behalf of the Angel Flight East Board of Directors, Staff, and Wings N’ Wheels Event Committee, we want to thank you so very much for your support, participation, and generous contribution. As a community partner and a partner in our mission, we also thank you on behalf of our patients. As is the case….with any true community, it takes many to make it happen. Thank you so very much for your generosity.
Thank you very much for your grant to La Comunidad Hispana. Your gift helps us fulfill our mission to help low-income residents of Southern Chester County stay healthy, build strong families and lead productive and fulfilling lives by providing high-quality, culturally welcoming services.
I am writing to you during Catholic Schools Week to thank you for supporting La Salle Academy. Our theme for this year is “Dare to Dream… Work to Achieve.” I am a fourth grader at La Salle Academy and I dare to be a firefighter when I grow up. I will achieve my dream by coming to school each day and focusing on my schoolwork so I can get good grades. I will do my best to follow our life goals of being respectful, responsible, motivated, consistent and peaceful. My favorite thing about La Salle Academy is music class because I like to sing.
Thank you for making my school possible. I really appreciate your support over the past six years. Your dedication to us has inspired me to work hard. My favorite thing about going to a Catholic school is that this environment is safe and secure. My favorite memory was our first basketball game.
We are so pleased to be awarded a grant from the Legacy Foundation for smart boards for two of our classrooms. This technology has opened a new frontier of learning for our students and we’re excited to have these two new systems for our 4th and 6th-grade classrooms. We are making arrangements for the systems to be installed this summer. We will alert you once the systems are operational and will make arrangements for you to visit the classrooms for a first-hand view of the benefits for the children.

One of our graduates recently wrote “my time at St. Martin’s helped build my confidence and inspiration to do well in life… it really helped me feel better about my situation and… not focus on my disadvantages coming from the inner city. They believed in me and my potential to accomplish.” She is now a college sophomore, with plans to be a hotel general manager one day. Your generosity says to each of our students, “I believe in you and in what you can become.” Thank you for helping to build a solid foundation for lifelong achievement.

Thank you for your donation for our Bedtime Books & PJs for our Maryland & Pennsylvania programs! We are thrilled to be able to provide 50 new pajamas and new books to children in need in each of these two states. The books and pajamas we send to children mean the world to them because so many of them don’t have a mom or dad to tuck them in at night. The children we serve have been abused or abandoned and have been removed from school for long periods of time. No during “Danger Season” as winter is at its worst, the need is great.

When I started Pajama Program in 2001 I never could have imagined how many children there are who need our help… in every city and state in America. The pajamas and books we send help them feel loved and comforted – like a good night hug. Thank you for sharing your love with these children.

It is with much gratitude that I write this note to you. Thanks to you and members of The Legacy Foundation, my son, Ben, will soon have use of a state-of-the-art glider. This piece of equipment will be instrumental in Ben’s recovery because it will allow him to bear weight on his legs on a daily basis. This will help to ward off osteoporosis and will allow Ben to build upper body strength.

I cannot thank you enough for your generosity. Ben continues to stay positive and make slow but steady progress. I attribute this to all the support he has received from wonderful people like you.

On behalf of our church family, we want to send a note of thanks to you and the Legacy Foundation for your generous gift. This gift has enabled us to purchase the equipment, toys and necessary items to establish our special needs room. We were able to purchase such things as special mats, a swing, tunnels, and toys for the children to play with and enjoy. We continue to upgrade and improve as needs arise, thanks to your gift.

Currently, the special needs room is functioning every Sunday and we have seen God bless our efforts. We appreciate you standing with us as we attempt to reach out to our community and those in need. Our verse for the room has become Mark 10:14, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” So again, thank you for allowing us to bring God’s word to “such as these”.

Children's Scholarship Fund Thank You Note
If it takes a “village to raise a child” then it takes the combined effort of the entire community to create inclusive environments for people with disabilities. Special People In Northeast, Inc. appreciates your support and generous contribution towards the fundraising initiative of the Stroll in the Park. Your donation will assist in the construction of a playpark for our children services program, but moreover, it speaks to the level of commitment that you have to the youngsters in our community. We are fortunate and honored.

Again, thank you and we look forward to seeing you at the Stroll.

I wanted to thank you personally for the Legacy Foundation’s support to the Speech-Language Department at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The purchase of the state of the art Lightwriter will allow the staff to communicate with children throughout the hospital in the quickest and most efficient way. As a personal supporter of the hospital, you know what a lasting impact contributions make to countless families. Thank you for your continued support and generosity – we are grateful to have you as a partner in our work!
Thank you for helping La Salle Academy. I appreciate all that you have done for our school. My favorite part of the summer session is swimming. Thank you for making LSA possible.
I want to thank you for your generous donation. It was very kind and gracious of your company to donate almost half the cost of the installation of the power lift chair and the Bruno wheel chair lift…

It was a wonderful feeling being able to transport my daughter and not having to impose on my friends. We have been to the pizza shop, visiting my father when he was ill, movies and Wal Mart…

It was wonderful to meet with you yesterday. I really appreciate that you took the time to come back out to our office and meet with me about our work and mission. I was also very happy to accept your donation for the Campbell Soup Academy classes. These classes have enabled us to better prepare our home buyers to be responsible owners and community members.

We are committed to revitalizing the City of Camden and improving the lives of our clients. We are celebrating our twentieth year and have produced over 650 units of housing. We are excited to create a new partnership with Legacy Advisors to provide support for our educational classes…
